Hi Friends,

It’s been a minute, as the kids would say. In fact, I have never gone so long without posting. I’ve been drowning in housing projects and other fun things, and just haven’t been able to carve out the time.

On Tuesday, I had my cousin over for a little pool date. She has an adorable four-year-old daughter named Wren. We spent a lot of time playing in the pool. At one point, Wren said, “This is actually fun.”

I asked if she was expecting it to be torturous or something, but I think that is just how she talks. Anyway it has cracked me up every time I’ve thought about it, and we’ve started adopting Wren’s philosophy. Eating a perfectly grilled steak? This is actually good. Beholding an incredible sunset? That’s actually pretty.

Kids are so dang funny and they grow up so dang fast. And that’s why this is the last ever Jackson Five Friday. Because next Friday we will be the Jackson Six! We are so excited about this wedding and adding a girl to our family.

I would so appreciate prayers over all the details. Many people will be traveling and I just want to savor every second.

As the Psalmist wrote, “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Save us, we pray, O Lord! O Lord, we pray, give us success!” (Psalm 118:24-25).
